School leadership and policy are the subjects of considerable research and theorizing because they are widely believed to be factors critical to improving educational outcomes and student performance, especially at the school level. Yet dissemination of the results of such research is a somewhat diffuse business. Therefore, this journal, Leadership and Policy in Schools, aims to provide a high quality forum for educational researchers, practitioners and policy makers to publish analyses and research about how school leaders and educational policies utilize fiscal, material and human resources to bring about change in education and the effectiveness of schools.
